Overview

MWWPR are looking for a Director of Insights & Intelligence interested in working with clients in Brand Marketing and PR/Communications to evolve the use of data to shape and support communication strategies and creative direction, help identify opportunities to increase audience affinity and engagement, and inform and validate big ideas.

 

Job Description

The Director of Insights & Intelligence will be responsible for uncovering rich audience, cultural and competitive insights and translate them into holistic strategies across multiple platforms. They will parse through multiple information sources (social channels, traditional and online news, proprietary research, syndicated data) to uncover meaningful data and fresh insights and identify direct implications for clients.

Technically, this individual will demonstrate expertise in data synthesis and interpretation, and will be skilled in delivering and coaching others to deliver business-relevant, insights-led research and reporting with clear storylines.

Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze social, digital and traditional media data using qualitative and quantitative research methods to develop new insights with the goal of improving planning, creativity, growth and efficiency
  • Be the curator of all things culture by providing up-to-date and ongoing intelligence related to opportunistic cultural conversations from media, consumers and other influencers
  • Develop data aggregation strategies including what we should capture and how we should capture it
  • Educate key members of the teams on the relevance of data to their businesses and how to use third party tools
  • Assist in the new business process – inclusive of thought leadership, and identifying & developing opportunities with current and potential clients
  • Use data visualization skills and tools to analyze, package and communicate findings to key stakeholders, both internally and to external clients
  • Stay informed on the marketing and communications analytics industry, including new technologies, methodologies, and key players

Requirements

  • Ability to translate data into insights that help clients understand audience needs and behavioral drivers
  • Strong knowledge of strategic marketing, media, social, audience targeting tools and vendors, including both quantitative tracking and research methodologies
  • Deep understanding of the digital landscape
  • Strong business, marketing & consumer understanding/interest in what moves popular culture
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, specifically the ability to convey research findings in a concise and effective manner
  • Ability to work individually and in a team setting
  • Ability to remain organized, driven, and focused on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt quickly to new projects
  • Project/time/client management skills
  • Strong presentation and data visualization skills
  • Enthusiastic, eager, and curious

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in marketing/communications analytics, research and insights function

 

Required research tools and skills: Sysomos, Google Analytics, Similarweb, Hitwise, Dow Jones Factiva, Netbase or Crimson Hexagon, Quid, Lexis Nexis, Mintel, Simmons or MRI, Facebook Insights, Tableau
